The 8½” high Totem Pole is one of the Northern Dreams series of original artwork by First Nations artist Gordon Fiddler. The 3/8” jade glass upright, with undulating chipped edges, is curved towards the back and attached to a chipped oval jade base. The artwork presents a vertical assemblage of living creatures - a totem - with the etched feathers randomly color-filled. It is accompanied by a romance card containing a short biography and the interpretation of the artwork as follows: “The living symbols of our hopes and ideals: Eagle (Courage), Loon (Peace and Tranquility), Bear (Strength), and Hawk (Wisdom and Cunning), all supported by Turtle (Resolve) upon our island Earth.” Also available in a 14½” version.
