Sandstone and granite, as major structural elements, reinforce the impression of weight, solidity and permanence in an award. In the Terran, the starfire is framed in front by Ionic-style columns and entablature aquashaped from a single piece of black granite. The assembly is deeply inset into a sandstone base. An award with a grand and formal sensibility, perhaps most appropriate for legal, higher educational, or diplomatic institutions. The etched details shown on granite are included.
